February Morning

from THE ODD BOX (Album) by Garrington T Jones

/

about

This song arrived too late for my “DEAD ROSES” album, but I
reworked it to mark the arrival in February 2020 of the
“Decree Absolute” that made me an unmarried person again.

lyrics

This house is mourning,
No warmth does it hold.
Its rooms forsaken,
Their secrets untold.
I choose to walk here,
No memories unfold.
On this February morning,
I’m broken and cold.

It’s strange, how things used to be?
So strange, it was just you and me.
We’ve changed, from lovers to friends,
This February morning, we’re strangers again.

How did we get here?
Were we so blind?
We didn’t look,
But we knew where to find;
The thread of hope
Held by a strand,
On this February morning,
Was cut by my hand.

It’s strange, how things used to be?
So strange, it was just you and me.
We’ve changed, from lovers to friends,
This February morning, we’re strangers again.

It’s strange, how things used to be?
So strange, it was just you and me.
We’ve changed, from lovers to friends,
This February morning, we’re strangers again.
This February morning, we’re strangers again.
This February morning.........
Strangers again.
