Another song that arrived too late for the “DEAD ROSES” album.

Fish Pie Blues is a modern take on the style of the old Blues performers of yesteryear, without trying to discourteous to the Blues heritage. I am far too white and English to do justice to old Blues standards, but I can write my own Blues with double entendre’s added for extra spice.

But I has a disposition to cast out my baited line

My perch pole is long and it don’t hardly bend,
All I needs is a good fish to dangle on the end,

Once had a girl who let me fish in her pool,
When her mamma finally caught me,
Sent her off to Sunday school,
I ain’t eaten good fish, for a mighty long time.

Now it seems to me when I gets my tackle out
Them fish ponds get all dried up
And there’s no fishing hereabouts

Let me ask you peoples, what’s a poor boy ‘spose to do?
When there ain’t no fish a-biting, I get them fish pie blues.
